Jexx Journal Waitlist Privacy Notice

On this page

Introduction

Jexx Inc. ("Jexx," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and handles your personal information responsibly.

This Privacy Notice explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect information submitted through the Jexx Journal coming-soon waitlist (the "Waitlist") and the email messages we send to Waitlist subscribers.

This notice applies only to the Waitlist. It does not apply to the Jexx Journal application, other Jexx products, or any other Jexx website, which are covered by their own notices. For information collected through the Waitlist, this notice controls.

Who the Waitlist is for. The Waitlist is intended for people in the United States. It is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has joined, contact us at privacy@jexx.co and we will delete the information.

Information We Collect

When you join the Waitlist, we collect your email address and information about your subscription:

  • Email address: The address you provide to receive Jexx Journal updates.
  • Consent information: A record of your agreement to receive communications, including the date, time, and version of the consent statement you accepted and the version of this notice that was current.
  • Subscription status: Whether you have confirmed your email address, remain subscribed, or have unsubscribed, and when.
  • Technical and security information: When you submit the form, our systems and our bot-protection provider process technical information, such as your IP address, your browser and device information, and the result of the bot-protection check, to operate the Waitlist, limit repeated submissions, and prevent misuse. In the Waitlist database we store only the time of your submission. Our providers may keep their own logs, as Section 7 describes.
  • Email delivery information: Our email provider records whether a message was delivered, bounced, or was reported as unwanted, and keeps that record under its own retention settings, as described in Section 7. We do not add it to your Waitlist record, and we do not track whether you open our emails or click links in them, other than recording when you use the confirmation or unsubscribe link.

We do not require your name, telephone number, mailing address, notary commission information, or payment information to join the Waitlist. Please do not submit sensitive personal information, or information relating to notarial transactions, through the Waitlist.

How We Use Your Information

We use Waitlist information to:

  • Register and manage your interest in Jexx Journal.
  • Verify your email address.
  • Send Jexx Journal launch announcements, availability updates, and related product communications you have agreed to receive.
  • Send messages about your subscription, such as address confirmation and confirmation of an unsubscribe request.
  • Keep a record of unsubscribe requests so that we do not email you again.
  • Respond to privacy requests and questions.
  • Prevent fraudulent or automated submissions and keep the Waitlist secure.
  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations.

Joining the Waitlist does not create a Jexx account, start a free trial, enroll you in a paid plan, or give you access to Jexx Journal. We do not use your Waitlist subscription to send marketing about other Jexx products or services, and we do not add your email address to the marketing list of any other product. If we want to use your email address for another purpose, we will ask for your consent separately where the law requires it.

Email Communications and Consent

Participation in the Waitlist is voluntary.

By entering your email address and selecting the consent checkbox, you agree to receive Jexx Journal updates from Jexx, as described in Section 3, and you understand that you can unsubscribe at any time.

We send an email asking you to confirm your address before activating your subscription. If you do not confirm, your subscription remains unconfirmed and is deleted as described in Section 7.

You can withdraw your consent and unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any Waitlist email. When you use the link, we stop sending you Waitlist emails right away. If you ask us by email at privacy@jexx.co, we will stop promptly and in any case within ten business days. You do not need to pay a fee, sign in, or provide anything other than your email address to unsubscribe. After you unsubscribe, we may send one message confirming your request.

Each promotional email includes an unsubscribe link and our postal address.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your Waitlist information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or for any third party's own advertising or marketing.

We use service providers that process Waitlist information on our behalf:

ProviderWhat it does for the Waitlist
CloudflareHosts the Waitlist website, runs the Waitlist's code, stores Waitlist data in its database service, and provides the Turnstile bot-protection check.
ResendDelivers Waitlist emails to you.

Cloudflare processes Turnstile signals for us to protect the Waitlist and, as its Turnstile Privacy Addendum describes, also uses them for its own purpose of improving its bot detection. Apart from that, our providers may use Waitlist information only as their terms and data processing agreements allow. They may process information in the United States and in other places where they operate.

We may also disclose information when the law requires, to protect our legal rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable law.

Cookies and Security Technologies

The Waitlist uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent automated submissions. Turnstile may process technical information, such as browser and network data, to decide whether a submission is genuine, and it may use browser storage or similar technologies for that purpose. The Waitlist may also store your appearance preference in your browser, where it stays on your device.

We do not use the Waitlist for analytics, behavioral advertising, or cross-site tracking. We do not sell Waitlist information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is no sale or targeted advertising for a browser opt-out signal to switch off. The Waitlist does not operate differently in response to browser "Do Not Track" signals or the Global Privacy Control.

If we add analytics or marketing technologies in the future, we will update this notice before they begin and obtain consent where the law requires it.

Data Retention

We keep Waitlist information only as long as needed for the purposes in this notice.

InformationHow long we keep it
Unconfirmed sign-upsWe delete them 30 days after sign-up if the email address has not been confirmed, including if you unsubscribed in the meantime. If you unsubscribed, the suppression record described below remains.
Confirmed subscriptionsWe keep them while you remain subscribed, the Waitlist is active, and your information is needed for the Waitlist's purpose.
After the Waitlist closesWe review the list within 90 days after the Waitlist closes and delete subscriber information that is no longer needed.
Unsubscribed records, if you do not ask for deletionWe keep your Waitlist record, including the record of when and how you agreed (the date, time, and consent version), until the review after the Waitlist closes or until you ask us to delete it.
Suppression recordWe keep a minimal suppression record, which is your email address, the date, and whether you unsubscribed or asked for deletion. We note if you later rejoin and the record is lifted. We keep it for as long as we need it to make sure we do not email you again.
Privacy request correspondenceIf you contact us, we keep your message, our reply, and the email address you wrote from, in our privacy mailbox and request log, for 24 months after your request is finally resolved or closed, unless we need to keep them longer for legal, regulatory, dispute, or other documented compliance reasons. We then delete them. A report that a child under 13 has joined is different, as Section 9 describes.
Email delivery and security logsOur providers keep these under their own retention settings. We do not use them for any other purpose.
BackupsDeleted information may remain in backups for a limited time until the backups expire.

We may keep information longer where needed to comply with the law, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or protect the security of our systems. When information is no longer needed, we delete it.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Waitlist information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or misuse. These include encrypted connections, limits on who can access Waitlist data, and bot protection on submissions.

No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a security incident affects your Waitlist information, we will notify you and regulators where the law requires.

Your Privacy Choices and Rights

You can:

  • Choose not to join the Waitlist.
  • Unsubscribe from all Waitlist emails at any time.
  • Ask us to correct your information.
  • Ask for access to your information.
  • Ask us to delete your Waitlist information, subject to legal requirements.
  • Contact us with questions about how your information is handled.

Unsubscribing and deleting are different. Unsubscribing stops our emails. Deleting removes your Waitlist information. If you ask us to delete your information, we will delete your Waitlist record, including the record of when you agreed, and keep only the minimal suppression record described in Section 7, so that we do not email you again. We also keep our correspondence about your request, as Section 7 describes. A report that a child under 13 has joined is different: we delete the information, including the child's email address from our request correspondence, and do not keep a suppression record. If you unsubscribe but do not ask for deletion, we keep your Waitlist record as described in Section 7.

You do not need to make a request to unsubscribe: use the unsubscribe link, or email us and we will stop within ten business days, as Section 4 describes. To make any other request, contact privacy@jexx.co. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and may extend the response once by up to 45 more days. If we decline a request, you may appeal by replying to our response within 60 days; we will answer within 30 days, or within 60 days if we tell you why we need more time. We will act sooner if the law that applies to you requires it.

We may take reasonable steps to verify a request before disclosing or deleting information, such as asking you to reply from the email address on the Waitlist. We will not ask for more information than we need. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law.

Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice to reflect changes in the Waitlist, our practices, or the law. When we do, we will update the version and effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will email you or give other notice, and we will obtain your consent where the law requires.
